Marin Spivack
Marin, born 1971, is 20th generation lineage holder in Chen Family Taijiquan. He preserves and develops the gongfu system of Chen Zhaokui and his father Chen Fake via the teaching of Chenyu of Beijing China, Chen Fake’s grandson and Chen Zhaokui’s only son.
Marin began training Chen Taijiquan with “Gene” Chen Jinhong in San Francisco, California in 1996. Chen Jinhong was one of the first to bring Chen Taijiquan to the west, as thought to him by his teachers Feng Zhiqiang, Lei Muni, Hong Junsheng, Tian Xiuchen, all disciples of Chen Fake, and from Chen Yuxia, Chen Fake’s daughter.

Marin learned from Chen Jinhong for about 5 years. During that time, in 1999, he was given a formal introduction to Chen Jinhong’s Shifu, Feng Zhiqiang. Marin trained with Feng over a period of some years.
In 2002 he because a formal disciple of Chenyu, traning the methods taught to him by his father, Chen Zhaokui, which were in turn directly passed to him from his father, Chen Fake. Chenyu is one of the most talented practitioners alive today, and hold the most authentic form of the art.
